Guided walking tour to the Historical Center

The tour starts at the ArtNaturas`s office, Fuenterrabía Square.

  • First spot, Toral Square where the three main touristic streets converge: Franco, Vilar and Nova. From there it’s possible to admire one of the most famous ‘Pazos’ of the city: Bendaña, where the Eugenio Granell Foundation is located. It houses a wide collection of surrealist works.
  • Following one of these streets is the Obradoiro Square. Our guides offer you a general explanation about the city and show the stunning facades surrounding the square: Cathedral, Hostal de los Reyes Católicos , Rajoy and Colegio de S. Jerónimo.
  • An outstanding stop in our tour is the possibility of entering at the private areas of the Hotel. There you can admire their cloisters, the Sacristy and the Royal Chapel, setting of several historical films.
  • Passing under the Arch of Xelmirez appears the Azabachería Square. There it is St. Martin’s Monastery.
  • The next target is the Quintana Square. You´ll visit the Church of S. Paio de Antealtares. Afterwards it’s possible to appreciate the rich barroc ornaments of Casa de la Parra before going down towards the east facade, to see the famous Doors: the Royal one, the Holy one and the door known as Los Abades.
  • From Platerías Square, it is ossible to admire the Romanesque iconografy of this front and the bizarre building named Casa del Cabildo.
  • Passing by Palacio de Fonseca, we are told  about the origin of the Santiago’s University.
  • At the end of the tour, we would be happy to offer you a toast at La Galiciana in order to bring closer the inmense world of tastes and flavours of galician viniculture. In this new space, the biggest food-market of the city, you could take a tour around some of the latest galician culinary trends, without leaving the hall.

According to the monuments schedule, the order of the tour could change.
